About JCL
JCL (Jochenlee) was founded in Hsinchu (Taiwan) in 1952 by the Jow family and has today become the predominant name in mould manufacturing in Asia Pacific region and around the world. Through a program of careful and continual investment for over 55 years, the JCL group now employs over 200 people and supplied all the major glass container and tableware manufacturers throughout the world including Asia Pacific, Middle East, USA and European Regions.
Founded as a 3-man machining shop, JCL began to specialize in mould manufacturing in the 1950s, as glass industry in Taiwan started its infancy of development. By 1970s, the company was successful in implementing a fully computerized manufacturing system using latest CNC technology and the company soon rose to become the leading mould manufacturer in Asia. A foundry was further established in 1982 and succeeded in developing JCL's range of high quality mould materials such as JC-5 cast iron, special SG iron and Silicon Bronze. In 1984, the company expanded into overseas by establishing JCL Singapore (also known as "JCL Engineering Pte Ltd"), which became the international sales headquarter outside Taiwan.
By the year 2000, in response to growing demand for projects, JCL began to diversify its business by joint- venturing with its partners in China to manufacture other machinery equipments for the glass industry, including press machines, fire polisher, pusher stacker, annealing lehr, decorating lehr etc. This culminated in two joint-ventures in China: JCL Shanghai to produce press machines and JCL Yantai to produce lehrs.
In 2007, JCL managed to secure a technical co-operation and contract with EFR (France), one of the leading annealing lehr manufacturers in Europe, to produce the lehrs in JCL Yantai. By 2009, JCL Yantai celebrated its historical milestone by completing the manufacture of the first lehr of international standard built in China.
Today, JCL continues to adopt an aggressive policy of expanding its market worldwide. At the same time, JCL also prides itself in being able to deliver superior product quality and services to its customers. This has been further augmented by JCL's commitment to the continuous improvement in its product quality and the dedication to technological innovation. Other than offering customers with a lower cost option for machines, JCL has been continuously working on the improvements of its machine products, through technical tie-up with European and Japanese manufacturers. JCL is active in listening to customer's feedback and as such is able to introduce many improvements to its machines. By 2009, JCL became the sole manufacturer in China to produce annealing lehr of international standard.
